Sources of Wood Cutting

The primary users of the timber resources in the province are two pulp and paper companies with mills at Comer Brook, Stephenville and Grand Falls. The next big user is the sawmilling and value added industry and finally we have the cutting which takes place for domestic use, mainly firewood and personal construction. These volumes are harvested from all over the province with the main concentrations in Central and Western Newfoundland.
